begin (Basic Educational Guidance in Nottinghamshire) is a respected & wellestablished not-for-profit partnership whose Steering Group comprises Basic Skills Providers, the local authorities & community organisations. Central & impartial services that are recognised as a national model of good practice include:

 

  • Literacy, numeracy & English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) helpline, advice & placement for over 4,000 people each year
  • Promotion & awareness-raising
  • Support for local organisations

 

We are seeking two people to join a small team dedicated to increasing the prospects of adults through our specialised Basic Skills information & advice services. Terms & conditions of the host organisation, New College Nottingham (ncn), apply. Both posts are based at ncn Berridge Centre, Forest Fields, & are fixed-term initially to 31st December 2009. Secondments are welcome.

 

Advice, Information & Administration Officer

£16,710 - £18,633 per annum (REF: NET/AIA/1521)

37 hours per week

We are looking for a confident, empathetic Advice & Administrative worker with experience of supporting disadvantaged people in an educational, information or advice setting. You will be an excellent communicator, a ‘problem solver’, will use Information Communication Technology (ICT) effectively & cope with pressure. Key duties include telephone support & advice for individuals, data-inputting & managing Client, Course & Contact/organisation information on our bespoke database, & some face-to-face support at outreach/training events.

Efficient administration underpins our services. You will be confident with ICT, an excellent communicator, & enjoy being part of a team that works under pressure. You will assist the team with: data-inputting of Client information, word processing & using emails; taking telephone enquiries & providing information to clients; researching & up-dating Course & Contact/organisation information.

Client Services Manager Job

To contribute towards the development and delivery of the IAG service

Main responsibilities:

 

  1. To work as a member of Care Training’s Advice and Guidance Team, assisting in all service development activities and contributing towards maintaining a reputation of excellence
  1. To ensure that all services are delivered to internal and external quality standards
  1. To support clients in making informed decisions about learning and work based on the client’s individual needs and circumstances
  1. To share information with the IAG team, assisting them to deliver a service that meets the expected standards of the IAG service, the business needs of Care Training and the individual need of the clients
  1. Identifying opportunities for business growth and attracting additional business beneficial to the growth and development of Care Training East Midlands
  1. To deliver specific IAG – related contracts to include:
    > Ensuring contract compliance
    > Achieving agreed targets
    > Ensuring that overall performance is in line with achieving or exceeding forecasted targets
    > Ensuring that quality standards are maintained at all times
  1. To liaise closely and develop productive relationships with external partners (Community and IAG network) and attend all relevant development or networking meetings
  1. To raise the profile of Care Training East Midlands amongst all stakeholders likely to be involved in the awarding of contracts:
    > Make and maintain strong personal contact with influential people
    > Attend relevant meetings and offer enthusiastic and positive contributions
    > Become involved in relevant working parties, strategy groups and relevant partnerships     
    > Identify success stories for the Marketing Team
  1. To identify and agree with the Client Services Manager any appropriate opportunities for personal training and development
